GN42 Party Wall guidance

Description

This six-page guidance note explains ‘What is a party wall?’ and then covers how to work through some scenarios, such as where existing roof battens are smaller than the new British Standards and where the rafters do not meet the party wall. Aditionally there is guidance on what should be done ahead of any works commencing, the duties of the building owner/contractor and the right of adjoining proprty owners. This guidance note features a number of technical diagrams supporting the points covered and also a useful checklist to reference ahead of work starting.
